News and Announcements
It’s time to look over your gear to see what you can ditch, and what you need to be ready for the ski season. These kids are STOKED for snow!!
It was another well attended ride at the South Canoe trails near Salmon Arm this past Sunday. We had U16, U14, U12 and U10 athletes riding the well designed trail system. There was tons of support from parents and we were able to split into several groups to ensure everyone got in a good ride. Thanks to the Mills for hosting a great BBQ and Slack-line session following the ride.
A quick reminder that we will be riding the South Canoe trails near Salmon Arm tomorrow (Sunday Sept 30) from 9:30-11:30. All riders will need to sign a quick waiver that I will supply. All club members and parents are welcome. There is no cost as Olympia has sponsored this activity.
The trailhead is close to 6811 10th Ave SE. Salmon Arm.
BBQ to follow at nearby house of Ray and Doris Mills – burgers will be supplied. People are asked to bring veggies or chips to supplement the post-ride lunch. Hope to see you there!
Registration for our on-snow programs is now open. Be sure to register prior to the early bird deadline of Oct. 31 for Race Tigers, U12, U14, U16 and prior to November 30th for our Entry Level Programs. We made a few changes to our program offerings this year based on feedback from parents and the clubs strategic direction. Here are some highlights:
Entry level and Race Tigers will offer only 1 or 2 full day options. If you feel like your child is not ready for a full day or they need to leave early then you can arrange this with the coach.
We are offering a ‘Race Tigers Accelerated’ Program for 8-9 year olds. More ski days offered with a coach!
We had twenty athletes and a bunch of parents and coaches out for the Olympia Club Ride this morning. These autumn days with tacky dirt and cool temperatures make for incredible riding conditions and great learning opportunities. Splitting into smaller groups of different ability levels allowed for an ideal level of challenge for all the riders. In addition to a great ride, athletes, parents and coaches got chance to connect with each other in the pre-season. Great times!
